Tapeworm sues doctor!
Various spyware/adware/slimeware merchants are taking action against anyone daring to detect or remove their software, including major anti-spyware companies such as LavaSoft and Computer Associates. In fact, they’re aiming to totally eliminate any negative references to their wares on public anti-spyware sites like Spyware Warrior and CounterExploitation.
In Threats Against Spyware Detectors, Removers, and Critics, Ben Edelman keeps a list of action taken by spyware-producing companies against sites that are trying to stem the tide of slime.
Strikes me as being kind of like a tapeworm suing the medical profession for removing it from someone’s body.
Read and feel queasy.
Blessings, Steve
