Critical updates for Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer and Word users
In their monthly rollout of updates, Microsoft has patched critical flaws in Microsoft Word and two system components (namely the Color Management Module and the JView Profiler) that affect Windows and Internet Explorer.
The flaws affect the security of the following Microsoft products:
- Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003/64-bit (all versions, including Workstation, Server, Enterprise and 64-bit editions with all service packs and patches). Please note that Microsoft have not released updates for Windows 98/ME, as they are now considered ‘non-critical’ operating systems;
- Internet Explorer 5/5.5/6 (all versions, including service packs and patches);
- Word 2000/2002/XP (all versions, including those included in Office 2000/XP and Works 2000-2004 suites).
I strongly advise that if you use any of the above software, go now, open up Internet Explorer (definitely the best use for IE) and use Microsoft Windows Update and Microsoft Office Update to install these updates (and anything else you’re missing).
Blessings, Steve
