cNet’s Download.com has become what I think is the first major download site to purge programs containing adware & spyware from its directory (kudos to Spyware Warrior for beating me to this one!

Spyware makers beware!
In Spyware Pusher Sued!, Spyware Warrior reports that New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is taking on spyware vendor Intermix. Spitzer has filed a lawsuit alleging that “the firm was the source of ’spyware’ and ‘adware’ that has been secretly installed on millions of home computers.”
